Meet Our Eye Doctors
Learn More About Your Optometrists in Wylie, Texas

Meet the Wylie Eye Center optometrists: Dr. Beth Anderson, Dr. Lauren Claborn, and Dr. Lindsay Denton. As your eye care professionals in Wylie, TX we specialize in understanding how the human eye really works, as well as diseases and conditions that affect your vision—many of which do not always have obvious symptoms. Our eye doctors know how age and risk factors affect vision over time for young and old, and they understand the benefits and features of corrective lenses, both as eyeglass lenses and contact lenses.

Our optometrists take the time to explain the results of your eye exam, describe your options and listen to your eye care needs. Because maintaining good eye health is an ongoing partnership, we encourage you to ask questions and share your health information, which could be vital to monitoring, diagnosing and treating potential vision problems.

Dr. Beth Anderson

Dr. Beth Anderson grew up in the Dallas Area graduating from Bishop Lynch High School.  She became interested in Optometry after seeing a special program on preventable blindness throughout the world.  Having a high prescription herself, she could empathize how difficult life would be without vision correction.  She has since traveled to Honduras for a medical mission trip providing eyecare for those most in need.
Dr. Anderson graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Tech University and Summa Cum Laude at the University of Houston College of Optometry, at which she served as commencement speaker for the graduating class.  She then went on to practice at a major surgical center in Southlake Texas prior to opening Wylie Eye Center in 2009.
Dr. Anderson is active in the community and enjoys working with the Wylie ISD nurses to improve vision screenings in our schools.  She loves participating in career days as an opportunity to share her passion of optometry. In her spare time Dr. Anderson loves to play basketball and spend time with her husband, son and new baby.

Dr. Lauren Claborn

Dr. Lauren Claborn grew up in Durant, Oklahoma and made the decision to pursue optometry as a senior in high school after being introduced to the profession by a family friend optometrist. She graduated from Durant High School and went on to earn a Bachelors degree in Biochemistry from Abilene Christian University. While in college, she worked with an optometrist and gained experience in the optical and as a technician. She then attended the Oklahoma College of Optometry where she had the privilege of working in the Cherokee Nation clinics providing state-of-the-art eye care to an under-served population. Students experience over 60,000 patient encounters each year. Dr. Claborn is thoroughly trained in ocular disease, specialty contact lenses, infants/pediatrics, vision therapy, and low vision. She also earned her Oklahoma Therapeutic Laser Certification which allowed her to perform laser eye procedures for the treatment of glaucoma and secondary cataracts in Oklahoma.

Dr. Claborn met her husband, Lance, while in college in Abilene and they have a new baby boy. She has participated in several mission trips including one to Zambia, Africa to provide eye care to those in need.

Dr. Lindsay Denton grew up in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. She spent her under-graduate years at Birmingham Southern College, then attended the University of Houston College of Optometry, graduating alongside our own Dr. Anderson! She was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and served as AOSA president. She earned a prestigious scholarship from the United States Air Force, and served 3 years as an Optometry Element Leader assigned to Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, Texas. She has since lived in Japan and recently practiced in Minnesota. She joined Wylie Eye Center in the fall of 2015.

Dr. Denton truly loves helping others. In the Air Force, she earned the Humanitarian Service Medal helping earthquake survivors in Pisco, Peru. She also served the San Angelo community as a board member for the West Texas Lighthouse for the Blind.

Dr. Denton met her husband, Nathan, while he was in pilot training for the USAF. Together they have lived in Texas, Japan, and Minnesota while he served as an F-16 fighter pilot on active duty and with the Minnesota Air National Guard. They have two daughters, who keep them entertained and very busy!

Dr. Ethan Royster

Dr. Royster is a Wylie local and graduated from Wylie High School. He developed an early interest in Optometry, having a great-grandmother who was blind and a family history of other eye diseases. Dr. Royster himself required glasses at an early age due to being highly nearsighted. These factors led him to go to Texas A&M University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Biomedical Sciences. During his time at A&M he was a member of the Aggie Optometry Association and worked as an optometric technician.

After graduating from A&M, Dr. Royster went to the University of Houston College of Optometry, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. While at UHCO, he was awarded a Clinical Letter of Excellence and the Optelec Low Vision Award for his services in the Center for Sight Enhancement. Dr. Royster also completed clinical rotations with the Houston VA and Space Center Eye Associates where he became experienced and interested in managing ocular disease. Additionally, Dr. Royster is highly trained in fitting specialty contact lenses, pediatrics, and low vision.
